1. Let’s start with the different types of CBD out there: broad spectrum, full spectrum, and isolate. This is the first step in knowing which CBD is right for you. When going through the plant extraction process, the manufacturer can choose to only extract CBD, everything including THC, or everything except the THC. This is basically the difference between each type. Isolate CBD is the plant extract that only includes CBD and no other terpenes, cannabinoids, flavonoids, or THC. The goodness of CBD stems from the fact that it is derived from the cannabis sativa hemp plant which carries hundreds of phyto cannabinoids which could potentially have a plethora of medicinal benefits.
By choosing to consume isolate CBD, you are eliminating the potential benefits of the other phytocompounds. The entourage effect is when CBD comes alongside other terpenes, cannabinoids, etc., which come together to interact and work more effectively together. You can’t get the entourage effect with isolate. Full and broad spectrum are the whole plant extracts. However, the only difference is that full spectrum has THC and broad spectrum does not. When it comes to choosing which is best, there are several ways to make this decision. If your workplace requires drug testing, it is best to choose broad spectrum. Even though THC comes in extremely low amounts in full spectrum, it can still show up on a test. Broad spectrum is also best when giving CBD to animals. THC can be toxic to animals which is why a CBD product that has 0 THC is the safest option.
